Family Visits

If you are looking for relaxing places to visit and fun days out with your children look no further!

Admire Britain’s tallest spire from our tranquil lawns then explore inside and learn the incredible story of the Cathedral that moved - two whole miles eight centuries ago!
To make the most of your visit take advantage of our children’s learning activity sheets and trails. There are plenty of video displays to watch, and if you bring a smartphone or tablet with you, there are even more things to discover by scanning the QR codes on many of our signs. If your children are over 7 years old and 1.2m tall - the tower tour is the ultimate experience!
We've reduced the number of people we welcome at one time for everyone’s safety so we recommend you book your visit in advance to guarantee entry at your time of choice.
We understand that your dog is an important part of your family, so we welcome well behaved dogs on leads inside the Cathedral and cloisters. We are a dog friendly attraction. Please note, only guide and assistance dogs are allowed inside the Refectory.

Please help us keep everyone safe by wearing a face covering inside the Cathedral.
