If you are looking for relaxing day out with your children look no further!
Bring a picnic (or buy an ice cream from our Bell tower Tea Rooms) and admire Britain’s tallest spire from our tranquil lawns. Then, explore inside and learn the incredible story of the Cathedral that moved - two whole miles eight centuries ago!
And if that isn’t enough, you can also enjoy our amazing contemporary art exhibition with 20 works by Grayson Perry, Antony Gormley and Henry Moore to name a few. Why not bring the grandparents?
To make the most of your visit take advantage of our children’s activity sheets and trails.
We've reduced the number of people we welcome at one time for everyone’s safety so you'll need to book your visit in advance (especially if you want to guarantee entry).
Please note that everyone is required to wear a face covering inside the Cathedral - watch the video below to learn about our COVID-19 safety measures.
We understand that your dog is an important part of your family, so we welcome well behaved dogs on leads inside the Cathedral and cloisters. Please note, only guide and assistance dogs are allowed inside the Refectory.
