2026 Organ Series

04 Jul 2026 - 10 Oct 2026

Our 2026 Organ Series features a fantastic lineup of talented musicians, including the return of the highly anticipated Organ Prom. Enjoy a wide range of repertoire across four evenings, with performances from Max Carsley, Maurits Bunt, and David Hill.

Opening this year’s organ series on Saturday 4 July, is Max Carsley, former organ scholar at the Cathedral and currently Assistant Organist at St Mary’s Cathedral Edinburgh.

On Saturday 8 August the popular Organ Prom returns, with music inspired by the Cathedral’s year-long theme of Joyful Noise. The evening will take on a relaxed and informal setting, with the audience encouraged to wander around the Cathedral, enjoy a drink and listen to a mix of music, from organ classics to film music and popular songs.

Dutch organist Maurits Bunt will perform works from the Renaissance to the Romantic period on Saturday 19 September, performing on the romantic 1877 Father Willis Organ as well as the 2025 Klop Chamber Organ, to better reflect the organs heard during the Renaissance period.

Closing the 2026 Organ Series is the internationally renowned conductor and organist David Hill. Known to local audiences from his time as Master of Music at Winchester Cathedral, Hill has gone on to achieve international renown as Conductor of the BBC Singers, The Bach Choir, Associate Guest Conductor of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and as Principal Conductor of Yale Schola Cantorum.
