Our Sound is our Wound: Contemplative Listening to a Noisy World

3 Jun 2026 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Reverend Lucy Winkett as she explores themes from her acclaimed book Our Sound is Our Wound, delving into the theology of noise within the Bible and the wider Christian tradition. Through this reflective and thought‑provoking talk, she invites us to consider how we listen for the voice of God amid the soundscapes that shape our lives, and how, within them, we discover our own voice.

About the speaker

Formerly a professional soprano, she was the first woman priest appointed to St Paul’s Cathedral in 1998, becoming Canon Precentor in 2003.
