Alleluia! Christ is Risen: An Easter Carol Service

A service of Easter readings from the Bible and poetry reflecting on the Easter story, interspersed with musical items. The service will include much‑loved Easter congregational carols alongside Easter anthems sung by the Cathedral Choir.

This year’s Easter Carol Service will feature music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, including his Five Mystical Songs: settings of five poems by George Herbert. Among them is Herbert’s Easter-themed poem “Rise Heart,” which offers a moving reflection on the hope of the resurrection.

The preacher will be Canon Professor James Woodward, Principal of Sarum College.

All are welcome, and no booking is required.
