Stonemasonry Workshops
Learn centuries-old stone carving techniques from trade masters.
We are very pleased to be re-running our popular stone carving workshops during 2026.
Whether you have tried stone carving before or have never even touched a chisel in your life we have a course that’s suitable for you. An expert stonemason, whose daily job is to maintain Salisbury Cathedral’s beautiful medieval architecture, will teach you how to work as craftsmen of yesteryear did. You will learn to carve a Celtic knot, Green Man (for advanced carvers) or a flower panel with our masons guiding you every step of the way.
Courses are held outdoors but under cover.

Two-day courses: start at 9am and finish at 4.45pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays or 3.45pm on Fridays.
Three-day course: 9am – 4.45pm each day (Tuesday – Thursday)
