A Choral Foundation Concert: Handel's masterpiece Messiah at Salisbury Cathedral

One of the most popular fixtures in our festive calendar, Handel’s Messiah returns with the full Cathedral Choir joined by the City of London Sinfonia and four distinguished soloists: Rebecca Hardwick, Hugh Cutting, Ruairi Bowen and Božidar Smiljanić.

David Halls, our Director of Music, conducts. He says:

“The genius of Handel and Jennens, in knitting together biblical texts and challenging evocative music, is to create a work which tells a complex story of hope and fear, longing and yearning, and judgement and comfort, a rich and varied evocation of God’s love.”

This concert is a fundraising event for the Salisbury Cathedral Choral Foundation. Charity number: 1058899.
