Carols by Candlelight

With traditional carols in a spectacular setting, our beautiful Carols by Candlelight services are unmissable. Join us at these beautiful candlelit services featuring bible readings, favourite carols and choral works sung by our Cathedral Choir as they tell the age-old story of Jesus’ birth.

This year’s services will be held on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December at 7:00pm. Doors will be opened one hour before the start of each service, with refreshments served in the Cloisters. No tickets are required for this service.  Everyone is welcome. Entrance to the service is free.  When you arrive and join the queue, queue tokens will be issued on each night, to ensure fair access to the Cathedral. Please note that saving seats once in the Cathedral will not be permitted, so members of a group wishing to sit together will need to queue together. Once the service has reached the maximum capacity permitted, it will not be possible to admit any further worshippers, so please arrive in good time. In any event, please be seated by 6.40pm. Anyone who is unable to queue in the Cloisters may wait in the Consistory Court (the main ticket desk area leading into the Cathedral). One family member or carer may wait with them. Anyone who is both unable to queue and unable to wait, should contact the Head Verger, Esther Lycett (e.lycett@salcath.co.uk), who will assist in making suitable accessibility arrangements.
