Step back in time and enjoy the music of Georgian Salisbury. In the 18th and 19th Centuries, the Corfe family played a prominent role in music at Salisbury Cathedral, serving as organists, composers and singers. In 2019, their descendants donated the family’s collection of music to the Cathedral. This collection gives an insight into the music which would have been played and heard in the Cathedral, the city, and the family home. To celebrate this extraordinary collection, and this generous musical family, we offer a weekend of musical events. Music performed at the services during the weekend will come from the Corfe family collection and from contemporary sources.
