2023 Edward Heath Annual Lecture – David Dimbleby with special guests Gyles Brandreth, Michael Dobbs & Carolyn Quinn

This year’s Edward Heath lecture will be given by David Dimbleby, the distinguished broadcaster who presented BBC Question Time for 25 years and has recently published his memoirs, ‘Keep Talking: A Broadcasting Life’.

David Dimbleby will discuss the changing relationship between journalists and politicians over the last half century. He will be joined by special guests, including:

Gyles Brandreth, TV personality and author of ‘Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait’.
Michael Dobbs, author of ‘House of Cards‘ and ‘To Play the King‘.
Carolyn Quinn, presenter of ‘BBC Westminster Hour‘ 2007-2023.

The lecture will be held at 3pm on Friday 2nd June, in the nave of Salisbury Cathedral, followed by a drinks reception at Arundells, Sir Edward Heath’s former home at 59 Cathedral Close.

Tickets are £30 each, which includes the lecture in the Cathedral and the drinks reception at Arundells.

Please enter the Cathedral via the Cloisters entrance and have your ticket or barcode on your phone ready to show our check in team.

The drinks reception at Arundells will be open for guests of the lecture from 4:30pm until 5:45pm, after which the house will close for a private evening event. The house and garden will be open for you to explore during this time.

Arundells is located just across the Close from the Cathedral on West Walk, there will be stewards available on the day to direct you there after the lecture.

Although there is no parking available at Arundells, there should be limited parking in the Cathedral Close car park on a first come first saved basis, at a cost of £8 a day. Parking for the Cathedral can be purchased as you enter the Close, via the High Street gate. In addition, city-centre car parks are just a short walk away.
