Volunteering at Salisbury Cathedral


Director of Community Engagement  – Full time, Permanent

We are looking for an innovative and energetic Director to take strategic responsibility and leadership of Salisbury Cathedral’s community engagement work.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop the community outreach work of the Cathedral which incorporates partnerships with community organisations to support the Cathedral in its aims to welcome all, develop partnerships and to become more diverse in its approach to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

The ideal candidate understands working in a value driven organisation and has excellent relationship building skills with the ability to partner alongside the various stakeholders in our Cathedral community.

We currently have an underrepresentation of professionals from minority ethnic groups and global majority heritage, as such we particularly welcome applicants from these groups.

Salary: circa £54,000 per annum

Music Officer – Full time, permanent

As Music Officer, you will provide administrative support to the Director of Music and Cathedral Choirs and work closely with the wider Liturgy and Music team.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support for the musical arrangements for major services and events.  The role includes arranging visiting choirs, administering chorister recruitment, administering of the Salisbury Cathedral Chamber Choir, liaising with the Cathedral School, and booking singers and musicians for services.

We are looking for someone with an appreciation of Cathedral music, a friendly and efficient person with strong IT skills and able to work in a small, highly committed and supportive team.

Verger – Full time, permanent

We are seeking to appoint a full-time verger to join our Vestry Team. This is a rewarding, interesting, and complex role, suited to a compassionate, hard-working, and flexible individual.
