Our Sunday Club meets each week, gathering at the Font each Sunday prior to the start of the 10.30am Eucharist Service, and children of all ages are most welcome to join in the special Sunday Club activities. After meeting our Children and Youth Minister and Volunteer Team at the Font, we then move to the Spire Crossing for prayers from the clergy, and thereafter, to our children’s area in the St Michael’s Chapel, within the Cathedral’s South Transept, for our interactive and fun session. Children of all ages (and indeed their parents!) are welcome to join in the fun every Sunday!
In addition to the weekly Sunday Club, there are numerous great opportunities for children to participate in the Cathedral’s major festival services, including Advent, Christmas Eve, Mothering Sunday, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter Day and Harvest Festival. On Christmas Eve this invariably involves meeting our very popular donkey and retelling with dramatic action, the Christmas Story! At Easter we run our popular Easter Egg Hunt and on Good Friday re-enact the Easter Story.
We warmly welcome children, their parents and families, to all of the above named events and activities, and consider family life at the heart of all we do.
