Coronavirus

Extensive cleaning and Covid-19 safety measures have been put in place and the Cathedral has acheived Visit Britain's 'Good to Go' Covid-19 industry standard for visitor attractions, confirming that clear processes are in place to protect the safety of our worshippers, visitors, staff and volunteers.

To ensure everyone’s safety, we've reduced the number of people we can welcome at one time. This means that at busy times we can get fully booked and have to turn away walk up visitors.

We recommend you book your visit in advance to guarantee entry at the time of your choice - tickets are currently released six weeks in advance.

We ask that you help us keep everyone safe by wearing a face covering when you are moving around the Cathedral and Cloisters, unless you are exempt.

Our one-way system helps to ensure that visitors are able to socially distance with ease in tighter spaces and at entrance and exit points.

Special cleaning procedures are in place and hand sanitiser is available at strategic points throughout the Cathedral.

Rest assured that we monitor all government and Church of England guidance updates and regularly review our COVID 19 risk measures to ensure the ongoing safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff.
