Booking ahead: the essentials

In line with Government and Church of England guidelines ALL visitors are required to book in advance and wear face coverings inside the Cathedral.
 

  • You must pre-book both groups and FITs. This is to manage the number of people in the Cathedral at any one time, allowing visitors to socially distance (2metres) in line with Government and Church of England guidelines.

  • Please email your booking request to groups@salcath.co.uk. There is an information and helpline available on 01722 512156.

  • Tickets are issued in 30 minute blocks e.g. 60 per hour. You must to arrive within your allocated 30-minute slot e.g. 12.00-12.30.

Payment can be made in advance, or by card (chip-and-pin or contactless) on the day. We are not accepting cash.

Alternatively, to make things easier, Travel Trade customers that regularly visit are welcome to join our voucher scheme.

 

Opening Times

The Cathedral is open Mon-Sat from 10.00. Last entry is 15.00. Doors close at 16.00. We are closed on Sunday

The Cathedral shop and Refectory restaurant are open Mon-Sat from 10.00 – 16.30. Last service in the Refectory is 16.00

The Bell Tower Tea Rooms are open from 10.00 until 16.30 daily with seating available on the Cathedral Lawn

Groups bookings (10+)

  • Group tickets requests must be emailed to groups@salcath.co.uk. The group will be booked in under your company name or tour leader’s name with the relevant contact details. The bookings team will note the number of tickets required and reserve the spaces.

  • 48 hours before your group is due to visit, you will need to confirm your numbers and email the passenger manifest with each individual visitor’s name and contact details to groups@salcath.co.uk. This is for the purposes of track and trace, should it be needed. Details will be held for 21 days

  • We will the email you a barcode that should be issued to your group leader. In the event that you transport in unaccompanied, please desginate an individual to bring it to the Front Desk.

  • When that email is sent it will confirm your numbers and booking and you will be charged for all bookings made, even if not used, so fixing your numbers at the 48-hour point is essential. Tour and group leaders should be included in the numbers - you will not be charged for them but we need their details on record.

  • On the day, you must bring a hard copy of the group manifest, which must be handed over at the Welcome Desk - this is for the purposes of track and trace, should it be needed. Details will be held for 21 days.

Travel Trade FIT and small group bookings (under 10 pax)

  • FITs or individual bookings should be booked by emailing groups@salcath.co.uk. The team will request each visitor’s name and contact details - this is for the purposes of track and trace, should it be needed. Details will be held for 21 days

  • When a date and time have been agreed, you will receive a confirmation email from our bookings team plus downloadable tickets with a unique barcode for each

  • On arrival, your client should present their ticket to the Welcome Desk, where it will be redeemed and your visitor will be admitted to the Cathedral.

 

BOOKING PROCEDURE FOR TRAVEL TRADE CUSTOMERS
