Spotlight Talk shares proof of Salisbury Cathedral's Magna Carta Ownership

Posted By : Marie Thomas Wednesday 9th September 2015

Salisbury Cathedral Archivist Emily Naish will be sharing some more exciting books and documents from the Cathedral Archive this Friday 11 September at 2.30pm in the Lecture Hall, Salisbury Museum.

Featuring in this Cathedral Library and Archive Spotlight Talk will be:

  • ‘Liber C’ a thirteenth century cartulary containing a contemporary copy of Salisbury’s Magna Carta. This remarkable book goes hand in glove with Salisbury's Magna Carta, proving ownership of the original document
  • A deed of 1386 relating to Reginald Glover and the medieval clock
  • A volume of Chapter minutes for the 1930s and 1940s
  • A selection of early twentieth century photographs of the Cathedral.

After the talk Liber C, the Chapter Minutes and photographs will be available to view. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge.
