'Photos that Inspire' Photography Competition

Posted By : Shane Brennan Thursday 31st January 2019

Are you a budding photographer or an Instagram enthusiast? We want you to inspire us with your best photos of our Cathedral and we’ve got some unique prizes up for grabs.

We’ll pick an overall winner as well as a winner for each of the following categories:

This can be anything shot inside the Cathedral, from the reflective William Pye Font to our latest art installation, Ladders of Light.

Our Cathedral can be seen from many different viewpoints around Salisbury, so it’s your chance to impress us with a unique view of our historic building.

An opportunity to think outside the box. There are no guidelines for this category, so get creative!

If you’re selected as our overall winner, you and a friend will get a bespoke ‘access all areas’ tour of our Cathedral. You’ll get to see areas not usually open to the public, meaning you can get some unique shots to build up your portfolio!

We’ll also select one lucky winner to have their photo be the cover of our next events leaflet, which we print over 10,000 copies of and distribute across the region. The winners of each category will also feature in the events leaflet and all winners and runners up will have their photos featured on social media and our website.

How to apply

You can send your images in by email to marketing@salcath.co.uk or by post to Marketing Department, Wyndham House, 65 The Close, Salisbury SP1 2EN. Please include your image (marked with the category it is being entered into), name and your contact information so we can notify you if you’re selected as a winner. Images with a resolution of less than 300 dpi will not be eligible for entry. Entrants can submit one image per category.

Photographs will be judged by a panel of experts. The winner will be notified using the contact details provided upon entry within 28 days of the closing date which is 28 February 2019.
