Our 2015 organ recital series opens on Wednesday 15 April, when renowned organist and choir-director Sarah Baldock gives the Alcock Recital on our fine Willis Organ. Sarah is a familiar face to Salisbury, having held organist's posts at both Chichester and Winchester Cathedrals; she is currently on the staff at The Cheltenham Ladies' College where she teaches academic music and is College Organist.
The organ loft and organist (including views of the organ console and pedals) will be visible to audience members sitting in the Cathedral Nave via a big screen; those who prefer to experience the recital without this added element may still sit in the Quire.
Salisbury Cathedral presents a series of six organ recitals, which will take place in April, May, July, August, September and October 2015. The series features six well-known and highly accomplished solo performers and, for the first time, each recital in the series will feature a big screen relaying a video-link to the organ loft. All recitals are on Wednesday evenings, at 7.30pm.
