We are running our first ever silent disco on Saturday 2 June, as part of a programme of events for families and young people designed to celebrate and encourage well-being and happiness.
Put on your dancing shoes, bring family and friends and enjoy a unique opportunity to explore the Cathedral’s East End whilst moving and grooving to some inspiring and heart lifting disco classics!
Times: 11.05, 13.05, 14.30 and 19.00. Tickets: £5 per adult/£3 per child and just 90 headsets per session - you can book online here.
In a packed day of joy there are activities for all ages with an all-day BBQ in the Cloisters. Pre-schoolers and their parents or carers can join Julie Lindsay on singing tours of the Cathedral and lawns. From Hickory Dickory Dock to Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush, Julie sings traditional nursery rhymes and leads her groups on a merry dance.
Julie's Sing it Back tours are free and take place at 10.00 and 14.00.
Arty types can take their sketch books for a walk and draw parts of the outside of the Cathedral they may not have noticed before. The two-hour Mindfulness Sketchbook Walk starts at 10.30 and is for children seven or over. Prepare to get your hands and feet dirty and bring something to sit on.
Tickets £5 per adult and £3 per child/concessions, sketch books and drawing materials included. Max 25 participants - book online here.
As well as drawing, dancing and singing there are story-telling session too, Tall Tales Together, where children are invited to create their own stories inspired by Cathedral treasures, and a poetry exchange. Find the lyrics, quotes and phrases hidden in the trees around the Close. Take the words you like and leave some of your own in place of it.
This activity is free but spaces are limited so register your interest here.
