Alabaré's flagship event, The BIG Sleep welcomes those who want to take a stand against homelessness. By sleeping out, participants will raise awareness of those forced to call the streets home and also raise much needed funds.
The Sleep was scheduled to take place tonight but due to health and safety concerns regarding condidtions for people travelling to and from Salisbury Cathedral tonight it has been postponed based on the weather conditions known. While this event has been held several times in lower temperatures, Alabare are concerned for the safety of trafffic to and from the venue. Details for the event are below should you wish to join the rescheduled BIG Sleep.
Come armed with cardboard, warm clothes, a sleeping bag or two, and a huge heart. You will be challenged to sleep under the stars at Salisbury Cathedral Cloisters for one night. An impressive and humbling venue that gives a real sense of how blessed we are to be able to go back to a warm and dry home afterwards.
Everyone who signs up pledges to raise a minimum of £100 for Alabaré's work with the most vulnerable. Anyone who raises £150 or more (excluding GiftAid) will win two tickets to the Odeon Cinema (excludes London and IMax)
Alabaré know many of the rough sleepers have a priceless bond with their canine companions. So Alabaré are welcoming 20 well behaved dogs to join them once again this year. Anyone bringing a dog must read the rules ‘For Well Behaved Dog Owners’ on the ticket page before signing up.
Once you have registered, Alabare will send you a full fundraising and event pack. If you have any questions about the event or raising sponsorship, please email Alabare at fundraising@.co.uk.
Tickets: Adults £10, 14-18 year olds £5 and dogs £5. Please click on ‘Book this event’ at the top of the page.
