"I hope you enjoy hearing this collection of choral works which has been taken directly from our sung services here at Salisbury Cathedral. The Cathedral Choir's busy routine is central to the life of the Cathedral. There are two sets of choristers (sixteen boys and sixteen girls), who share in the singing of the nine choral services sung per week. The choristers rehearse each morning between 8-9am, and again after school at 4.35pm; the lay vicars join this rehearsal at 5.10pm, in preparation for the sung service (usually Evensong) at 5.30pm. These recordings are an example of the choir's daily work, and I hope that by releasing them, we are able to bring the experience of Choral Evensong at Salisbury to you at home.
