The Team behind the scenes
During 2016 the team in the Refectory served our customers:
46,146 pots of tea
74,392 cups of coffee
19,972 portions of soup
5,000 bottles of water
22,158 sandwiches (which equates to 2,461 loaves of bread which laid end to end would stretch 6 ½ times the height of the spire)
17,399 homemade scones
34,000 pints of milk!
Kevin Oborne – General Manager: Kevin is now in his 16th year at the Refectory. He has been here since the start of the contract, originally as Head Chef then promoted to manager 10 years ago. He continually works at strengthening the partnership with the Cathedral. Kevin has over 30 years’ experience in the catering industry
Sally Smith – Pastry Chef: Sally is now in her 20th year here at Salisbury and she is responsible for all the homemade baking with Michael Winner describing her flapjacks as, “the best he had ever eaten”
Piotr Estrop - Deputy Manager: Piotr is now in his 8th year with us and brings a wealth of experience in front of house. He provides excellent service to all our customers and brings that continental touch; he always strives to maintain our high standards
At present we do not have any vaccancies for staff but we are always looking for good part time weekend staff. If you have a great smile and personality and are over 16 years of age then feel free to pop in and ask for an application form.
