The Jenkinson Organ Recital by Kris Thomsett

Posted By : John Challenger Thursday 18th June 2015

Our 2015 organ recital series continues on Wednesday 1 July as Kris Thomsett, the Cathedral Organ Scholar, gives the Jenkinson Recital on our fine Willis Organ. Kris has been Organ Scholar at Salisbury Cathedral since September 2014, and throughout this time he has been an invaluable member of the Department of Liturgy and Music. Kris will remain at Salisbury as Organ Scholar for the next academic year.

The organ loft and organist (including views of the organ console and pedals) will be visible to audience members sitting in the Nave via a big screen; those who prefer to experience the recital without this added element may still sit in the Quire.

Salisbury Cathedral presents a series of six organ recitals, which take place in April, May, July, August, September and October 2015. The series features six well-known and highly accomplished solo performers and, for the first time, each recital in the series will feature a big screen relaying a video-link to the organ loft. All recitals are on Wednesday evenings, at 7.30pm.

Tickets: £9/£7.50 (wheelchair)

Tickets are available online and at the door.
