Magna Cantata

Tuesday 7th July 2015 to Friday 10th July 2015
Salisbury Cathedral

This brand new musical for children charts the course of Magna Carta from King John's time to the present day. Staged by professional Artistic Director Ben Occhipinti and with 200 school children from around the Diocese filling Salisbury Cathedral's nave each night with catchy songs, entertaining lyrics and colourful costumes, this evening promises to be a throughly enjoyable experience. Book and lyrics are by Andrew Mackay and music by Philip Lawson in this exciting collaboration conducted by Musical Director Ian Wicks. Further performers include the Salisbury Cathedral Junior Choir, Godolphin Vocal Ensemble and the Farrant Singers.

Magna Carta is part of our shared heritage and our identity as a nation and this involvement will open up opportunities for your children’s social, cultural moral and spiritual development.
