The music in this concert will provide a focus on memories of those who have died in the defence of freedom, and also on our own deepest emotions.
One of the rare occasions when the entire Salisbury Cathedral choir of boys, girls and men can be heard in concert in the building. Fauré’s Requiem is the centrepiece of this year’s Remembrance-tide concert. The programme includes JS Bach’s motets Der Geist hilft and Ich lasse dich nicht, and we are delighted to be giving the first performance of a specially commissioned work by Ian Stephens - the Salisbury Service - written in memory of Christopher Steinitz, a former Salisbury Cathedral chorister.
