Thursday 12 November at 1930: Salisbury Cathedral choir will perform music by Bach, Duruflé, Elgar and Tippett. The programme is framed by Bach’s wonderful motets ‘Komm, Jesu, komm’ and ‘Lobet den Herrn’ with a rare performance of Duruflé’s beautiful Messe ‘Cum Jubilo’ for tenors, basses and organ and Tippett’s canticles for St John’s College Cambridge. The atmosphere of Remembrance is captured by Elgar’s setting of Laurence Binyon’s famous words ‘With proud thanksgiving’.
