The Advent Procession: from Darkness to Light

Salisbury Cathedral's famous Advent Procession takes place on Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. and on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. Admission on Friday is by (free) ticket only, but admission on Saturday and Sunday is first-come first-served and you're encouraged to arrive early! This very special service starts in complete darkness and ends with the entire Cathedral lit by approximately 1300 candles. Beautiful choral music, Bible readings and congregational hymns tell the story of the promise of God's coming amongst us.

No ticket required.    Please note, we do not reserve seats on the Saturday and Sunday but, if you require a wheelchair space plus up to 3 guests, please contact events at Salisbury Cathedral on  all wheelchair spaces will be in the South Transept, thank you.

Doors open an hour before the service, queuing will be under cover in the Cloisters seasonal refreshments will be available.
