The Advent Procession: from Darkness to Light

Salisbury Cathedral's famous Advent Procession takes place on Friday and Saturday evening at 19:00. and on Sunday evening at 17:00. Admission on Friday is by (free) ticket only, but admission on Saturday and Sunday is first-come first-served and you're encouraged to arrive early! This very special service starts in complete darkness and ends with the entire Cathedral lit by approximately 1300 candles. Beautiful choral music, Bible readings and congregational hymns tell the story of the promise of God's coming amongst us.
Friday evening:  tickets have all been allocated, however, we do get returns,  so we have a 'non ticket' queue in the Cloisters on the evening.   All tickets holders have been told to be in their seats for 18:40 if there are empty seats after this time the 'non ticket ' queue will be allowed in the Cathedral to fill any empty seats.
Saturday and Sunday services, no ticket required.    Please note, we do not reserve seats on the Saturday and Sunday but, if you require a wheelchair space plus up to 4 guests, please contact events at Salisbury Cathedral on  all wheelchair spaces will be in the South Transept, thank you.
Doors open an hour before the service, queuing will be under cover in the Cloisters seasonal refreshments will be available.
