Dean - The Very Reverend June Osborne
The Very Reverend June Osborne was installed as Dean on 1st May 2004. She is the first woman Dean of a medieval cathedral. The Dean is the senior member of the Chapter, recalling the fact that since 1075 the Cathedral at Salisbury has been governed by Canons (not monks), with the Dean presiding over the Chapter, with four Principal Persons charged with the day to day governance of the house.Tel: 01722 555 110

Precentor - The Reverend Canon Tom Clammer
Canon Tom Clammer was installed in April 2012. The Precentor's role in the Cathedral goes back to 1091. Written by Osmund the second bishop, the job description has not changed much since then. The Precentor is the 'Preces Cantor' or 'singer of the prayers', in medieval times he was "to rule the choir". Today the Precentor is the canon responsible within the Chapter for the worship, liturgy (that is the order and performance of services) and the music. He is responsible for the daily round of Cathedral services and for the many special services that have to be arranged during the year.Tel: 01722 555 128
