As part of our repair and conservation work on the Chapter House, when our Stained Glass specialists replaced the windows they did so into wooden frames, as when the building was first completed. These frames were made by the Cathedral’s Joiner who also makes a diverse range of bespoke items, for example  plinths for exhibition pieces that have a ‘secret’ door so they can be weighted down and made safe, or display cabinets; he also carries out maintenance work such as replacing rotted-away roof timbers, all the way down to mending doors and hinges.
