Venue Use and Hire
Salisbury Cathedral hosts over 1,000 services, concerts and events each year, as well as welcoming over 250,000 visitors and pilgrims to one of the South West’s iconic tourism destinations. We offer a highly professional support service to those wishing to work with us as a venue, maintaining at all times our reputation for outstanding music and liturgy. Informal Concerts, and requests from groups to sing or perform in the Cathedral
Salisbury Cathedral attracts in the region of 300,000 visitors every year, and hosts in the region of 1,500 services. We strive to ensure that we offer a warm welcome for all but in order to balance the varied demands of the diary, we have had to make some policy decisions. One of those decisions is that the Cathedral will not host informal concerts during the visitor day. We recognise that this will be disappointing to groups hoping to perform in this manner in the cathedral, but this decision has been made in the wider context of the diary planning process. We apologise for any disappointment that this may cause. Visiting groups are of course free to pursue securing a formal concert booking through our Events Team who would be delighted to assist you.
